How to Help
Service is the rent we pay to be living. It is the very purpose of life and not something you do in your spare time. –Marian Wright Edelman
How to Help
Everyone who comes to us gives in some way. Some give by donating their time to tutor or work with the books. Others give in more concrete ways by donating books or money. Taken together, what people give is what makes New Haven Reads successful.
Our Wish List
Working at New Haven Reads, a number of us have compiled a list of items that would make our lives and our work much easier and more productive. A donation of any of these would be especially appreciated!
Donating
Can you help with a financial donation? Do you have some books in tip-top condition that you can give to others?
Volunteering
Volunteers are the soul of our organization. Volunteers work in the tutoring programs, in the Book Bank and in Book Distribution. We are always looking for volunteers.

People who volunteer at two or more organizations have a 44 percent lower death rate than those who don't do any charitable work.
