Volunteering
Volunteers are the soul of our organization. Volunteers work in the tutoring programs, in the book bank and in book distribution. We are always looking for volunteers. We particularly need volunteer tutors who are willing to come in for an hour once a week to work with a student. We have about 200 children who need tutors on our waiting list. Each tutor is assigned to work with a specific student(s). Our tutors help our students with their homework and help them improve their reading, writing, math, and critical thinking skills. The tutors have access to multiple teaching tools, and during the year various training programs are available to current and new tutors. Our program serves all ages from K to high school. We also need people to supervise group homework tables and math tables once or twice a week.
