Book Bank
The Book Bank is set up like a book store. Books are loosely arranged by topic. There are fiction and non-fiction sections for adults, which include history, poetry, drama, medicine and health, parenting, foreign languages and self-help among others. There is a separate children's section which includes board books, easy readers, picture books and fiction and non-fiction for students from pre-K through high school. All books are free. Individuals may take up to five books a day. Teachers and organizations may take as many books as they like. In 2006 the Book Bank distributed over 135,000 books.
All our books are donated by individual or community groups. Some books come from the leftovers from library sales. We also receive books from First Book and from some publishers. We take any books in good to excellent condition, but we do not take any enyclopedias, magazines, or outdated material (i.e., science, medicine). We especially like children's books! To donate books please bring your books to the Book Bank during our open hours. If you have a large number of books, please call ahead of time so we can make sure we have enough space.
Open hours: Monday–Friday 1:00–6:00 pm; Saturday 12:00–4:00 pm.
